Directors, Amanda Pierce & Catherine Coate, have both been Certified Practicing Speech Pathologists for over 20 years. They have extensive experience working with adults with disability and acquired communication, speech, voice & swallowing difficulties.
Most recently, they have jointly held the position of Senior Speech Pathologist at Bunbury Regional Hospital for eight years where they developed specialist skills & knowledge working on the Intensive Care Unit & Medical Ward with patients with acute medical issues such as tracheostomy management, respiratory & multiple organ failure and polyneuropathy. Also on the Rehabilitation Ward & an Outpatient Clinic with patients post stroke, Parkinson’s Disease or elderly patients after falls, requiring communication, speech, voice & swallowing therapy. Amanda & Catherine are both accredited in videofluoroscopy assessment, tracheostomy management and complex dysphagia assessment and management.
Prior to their role at Bunbury Regional Hospital, Amanda & Catherine worked for many years as part of the South West Disability Services Commission & the Regional Therapy Team where they provided support to clients with complex disability & their families, including Alternative Augmentative Communication (AAC) assessment & prescription, mealtime management & positive behaviour programs.
Catherine & Amanda are both experienced in mentoring & supporting others & working with a range of care providers to achieve the best outcomes for their clients.
