COMMUNICATION
Adults may experience impairments in communication for a variety of reasons. For example, following a stroke or other brain injury. Changes can also be caused by head and neck cancer, surgery or a neurological disease.
Our experienced speech pathologists can assess and treat communication difficulties including: speech, voice and language as well as alternative augmentative communication.
SWALLOWING
Difficulties swallowing are also known as ‘dysphagia’. We are able to work with you to assess and manage changes to the way you can eat and drink, develop swallow rehabilitation plans, considering your goals and quality of life.
VOICE
Voice disorders can be caused by voice misuse or overuse, neurological disease (eg. Parkinson’s), surgery, reduced breath support, reflux or chronic cough. We are able to conduct a thorough objective assessment of your voice and develop a treatment plan specific to your needs. We are also able to work with your ENT for pre and post surgical education and voice therapy.
